Trip Itinerary

Stop #1 - Experience one of the best vantage points in the Glass House Mountains
When you first step out of the car, you’ll experience one of the best vantage points to take in the spectacular Glass House Mountains. They are a unique facet of the region’s skyline, and are often said to be worth the trip in their own right.
Stop #2 - Experience a plantation and local produce store in the Glasshouse Mountains
Your first stop will take you on a tour of a plantation and local produce store in the Glasshouse Mountains. Here, they have created a plant-to-cup coffee experience, and produce their own honey. This will also be where we have morning tea.
Stop #3 - Local platters to graze on whilst enjoying locally produced wines
After tasting locally produced wines, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy your favourite drop with this first course. Your first lunch course will be a platter of locally grown and produced meats, and vegetables, as well as a cheese platter. These entrees of local ingredients will be beautifully paired with wine or a drink of choice with a scenic vista.
Stop #4 - Visit a well renowned fish market
The Sunshine Coast is home to one of Australia’s largest sea port on the Eastern Coast, and home to an abundance of fresh caught seafood. We’ll visit a local fish market where we can explore the various options on offer and see the trawlers and fishermen at work.
Stop #5 - Indulge in infamous local produce beautifully paired with wine
After visiting the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, you’ll then drive down to the coastal region where you’ll enjoy a main course of locally caught seafood (or other dishes depending on preference), and coastal views. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to explore the harbour area or esplanade, and walk along the beach before heading back to Brisbane.

Reviews

Jamie-Lee put together a one of a kind tour of the Sunshine Coast food scene just for me due to my allergy to alcohol and desire not to eat too much red meat. We started the day in Brisbane CBD where she surprised me with a bag of goodies just to start the morning. The highlight of our tastings was the immense and excellent seafood BBQ for lunch - so awesome! We also had great coffee, chocolate and afternoon cheese/fruit - certainly didn't need to eat dinner that night! We also fitted in a couple of short walks to help all that delicious food settle and I spent a few minutes browsing the shops in one of the small towns we visited. Jamie-Lee was super helpful pre-trip answering all of my questions and we had a blast that day getting to know one another. I couldn't ask for anything more.

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide Wade was lovely, he obviously knew the area well and was extremely helpful. The stops on our tour were exquisite the food was excellent at every stop and were not obvious places to go for out of towners.

Tour Highlights

Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Coastal Journey

Your first stop on this Sunshine Coast food tour will take you to one of the best vantage points of the Glass House Mountains. They are a unique facet of the Sunshine Coast's skyline, and are often said to be worth the trip in their own right. As you continue your journey along the Blackall Ranges, you'll enter the beautiful lush Hinterland where you will spend some time at two different places before descending down towards the sea. Your lunch stop will be enjoyed near the water, and with additional opportunities to feel the sand between your toes, you'll see why the Sunshine Coast is often an underrated coastal destination.

Farm-to-Table Produce Experienced In The Places They Were Created

The farm-to-table, paddock-to-plate, or fork-to-plate movement may have different names, but all form a part of the movement and resurgence towards reducing our food miles and knowing where our food comes from.

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is one of the state’s best regions to experience this movement with lush farming land dotted throughout, and a strong push for organic farming.

On this Sunshine Coast tour, you’ll experience seafood fresh from the trawler mere metres away from where you’ll dine.

A Fully Inclusive Food Tour Experience

During this Sunshine Coast tour, you’ll get a sensational meal made up of 4 – 6 different dishes, plus some other tastings, 3 – 6 wine tastings, wine at 2 stops (or other beverages if preferred).

It is a full-day driving tour through the Glass House Mountains, Sunshine Coast Hinterlands and Sunshine Coast.

During the day, you’ll experience some great places that best represent different facets of the region’s farm-to-table food scene, with plenty to see and learn along the way.

Four Local Venues

You’ll experience four very different venues, highlighting both the laidback and friendly nature of the Sunshine Coast.

  • Plantation and Local Produce store *or other farm
  • Local Winery and Restaurant
  • Seafood market
  • Relaxed Seafood Restaurant Overlooking the Water

Be Wined and Dined

You’ll enjoy a variety of carefully selected wines (some made by you :)), or other beverage pairings if desired, chosen to enhance the flavours of the food.

Experience the Region's Iconic Ingredients

You’ll enjoy a variety of produce that the Sunshine Coast region is renowned for, including:

  • Sub-tropical fruits,
  • Cheeses, and
  • Seafood, as well as some lesser known ones that may well surprise you!

Experience a local plantation and farm and experience the fruits of its labour.

Taste your way through some Queensland made wines and experience the uniqueness of our lesser known wine industry.

Savour a paddock to plate platter of locally grown and produced meats, vegetables and cheeses, whilst sipping on wine and savouring the view.

Enjoy some of the Sunshine Coast’s best seafood fresh from the trawler.
